New Beginnings
Hey y'all! My name is Candace and I'm an incoming 1st year Medical Student. I am absolutely ELATED that this is finally happening. My childhood dreams are finally coming true. My journey to medicine has been far from traditional but I wouldn't change a thing. I recently graduated with my Masters Degree in Biomedical Sciences from Barry University. All of the hardships I have experienced in the last 3 years have molded me into a stronger woman who is ready to conquer whatever challenges may come my way.
It has been far from easy but I try my best to take it all in stride. I am looking forward to all the things I will experience over these next 4 years! I will be documenting my journey here and on my ig: @melaninxmedicine as time permits. It is so helpful to have access to students who have been in your shoes. Remember everything happens when it is supposed to and that delayed doesn't mean denied. Trust YOUR process which may look totally different than your peers. The most important thing I can say is don't rush things. Sometimes it's simply not your time, YET! Enjoy your journey and embrace where you are at all times. Keep your eyes on the prize and keep striving for greatness!
Listen to me when I tell you that what God has for you is for you!! Nobody can ever take that away from you! He will literally make a way out of no way or in my case reopen a closed door! I'm so elated to announce that I am going to St. George's University (SGU) School of Medicine on a scholarship starting this August! Everything that I have been through in the last 3 years was all a part of his perfect plan. So excited to officially start my 1st year of medical school and FINALLY become Dr. Candace N. Brown. 👩⚕️💉🥳. The only explanation I have for this is: Favor.
