First module of medical school is complete! Goodbye FTM, Hello MSK!
Hey y'all! I just finished my first module (FTM 1 & 2) of medical school here at SGU. It consisted of 2 exams across multiple subjects. We had some Biochemistry, Genetics, Histology, Cancer Biology, and Molecular Biology. The volume came and boy did it come fast! The exams are cumulative so you have to keep up with the new material as well as the "old" material. 6 weeks flew by so quickly and tomorrow is the end of week 7. I swear all the days run together. I make a detailed schedule for what I am going to accomplish for the day and try my best to stick to it. Sometimes things have to be tweaked. I attached a copy of how my weekly schedule looks like. Your girl is BUSY BUSY.
I really need to give myself more credit than I do. My feelings about the exam did not match the score I received. One thing is for certain though---once I pick an answer I keep it. I am so thankful that I have taken many of the courses we are doing before. Although the information is being presented differently and in more detail, it is still a tremendous help.
One thing I am really thankful for is the BMS program I did at Barry. I still have my struggles but it is nowhere near as bad as my peers who came straight from undergrad. This MSK module is my cup of tea as I'm a very visual learner. There's a lot of histology and anatomy involved. The challenge for me will be having to do lab online. After this module, we have one more which is CPR and it consists of 2 exams. We will also have a lab practical and clinical skills exam.
Lastly, I just wanted to send a huge thank you to everyone who has been and continues to be a source of encouragement for me on this journey. It does not go unnoticed and I truly appreciate it more than you know. I am pretty much MIA all the time but just know that I do eventually see your messages.
Until next time,
Candace
