Term 4🔄 is OVER. Officially T5!

Alright so the final grades are in. If you got what you wanted, congratulations I'm so happy for you 🎉🎉 and if you didn't I'm still proud of you too ❤️. Term 4 is a beast and congratulations to us all for sticking it out.

As you all know, I failed T4 the first time but I came back with a vengeance. I realized that all along I was not studying in a way that was efficient for me. Once I switched my methods this term, everything changed. I realized that making concept maps 1000000% is the way that I learn best. I am excited to carry this with me into T5.

If you have found that your study strategies aren't working for you and you aren't seeing the grades that you want I advise you to consider your method. It's not you, it's your method. You just have to figure out what the method is for you. For everyone it is gonna be different. You have to keep that in mind. I don't do anki and others swear by it. I used to white board a lot and didn't do it that much this term either.

I wasn't required to meet with an advisor since  I was passing but I chose to because I feel like there is always room for improvement. I met with one after each exam and I told them this is what I did, this is what I intend to do and how can I make this better. It paid off because I high passed this term. It definitely took a lot for me to get to this point but what I want you to know is that it can happen for you too. To anyone who has to repeat a term or CR'd, I'm telling you from experience that it absolutely does get better. This is the only time I am going to be so open with my scores but I feel like I can show you better than I can tell you. In term 4 last time I had my lowest exam of med school to date and in term 4 this time my highest. If I can do this, so can you. Keep on pushing friends. You got this ✨️❤️.

*For clarification: An F at my school is 72.49 or lower btw. At many med schools a 70 is what you need for passing but not at SGU. Only term 1 is like that here. Each term the passing requirement increases.*

*I have chosen to disclose 1 exam score from last term and 1 exam score from T4 the 2nd time. I know this can be triggering so please use discretion if you do choose to continue scrolling.*

  1. What do your concepts maps look like? Can you post an example of one? Thanks so much for being so candid in this post!

    1. Hi there. Absolutely I will share one. I've shared a few on my ig but I think I will make a screen recording of me making one so that people can understand how I use it better. You're very welcome. I know that it sucks to be in a difficult situation but it can and it does get better.
